This is a mid to late game guide for Wukong. I choose to build Wukong as a tanky dps or offtank. Wukong is not great during early game, and he requires a solo lane to farm. Don't be over aggressive as Wukong until you hit 6. Just last hit and harass your opponent. I hope you read this guide, and try it out atleast once or twice.

Wukong is a great late game tanky dps. He deals decent damage, can take hits like a boss, escape like a pussy with w, and just crush all of Summoner's Rift like King Kong in Tokyo. Wukong isn't the best tanky dps you will find, but he sure is one of the most fun to play. There are many techniques to playing Wukong because of such strange yet fun skills. I will introduce the basics and core build in this guide. You might not agree with everything in this guide, but hey, everyone has their own opinions. This is a long guide, and for advanced users, you might not need all this information. However, i am writing this guide for everyone, so read what you think is important. Also please leave comments below. Constructive criticism is great, but if you just comment "this guide sucks", go fuck yourself. Now, let us begin...
Pros:
- Tanky DPS (best type in game imo)
- Great Escape with W combined with flash/ghost
- Great late game champion, and easy solo lane.
- Ultimate is great initiator for teamates
- He's like fucking King Kong
- Tanky DPS (do i have to repeat this?)
Tanky DPS are a necessity in games now. Wukong fits the role perfectly. He can solo well as long as you aren't too aggressive before level 6. He has great escapes, so you can run if you know you can't do anything. And his damage isn't the best, but you could surely take most champs on 1v1.
Cons:
- Early game isn't great
- Not the best tanky dps in game
- lacks enough CC besides ult
- lacks incredible burst damage
Wukong isn't exactly great when it comes to skills with CC. His ult isn't even that great (its
like a 1.5 sec stun). He has really bad early game, but he still needs a solo lane to excel. I
can't seem to finish my items if i can't get solo. But, wukong is still great, and definately worth trying.
Stone Skin - A decent passive. Gives you more armor and mag. resist which is necessary for a tanky dps.
Crushing Blow - You're source of damage for mid-late game. It gives you bonus damage which is great. However you do not max this first. Why? If you compare this to Nimbus Strike, Nimbus Strike gives you greater damage early game, which will help you win your lane.
Decoy - One of the funnest/trickiest skills in League. This is your main escape. just charge in with Nimbus, use crushing blow, and use decoy to walk quietly back behind your minions while you're opponent panics and spam skills on your clone. This skill has many uses, and I'll explain more later.
Nimbus Strike - You're early game damage. This gives you great burst damage early game in lanes, and it lets you harass your enemy. Use this to close distances, or use it to escape by hitting minions that are away from opponents. Use Q quickly after you auto attack someone with this skill.
Cyclone - A decent ult that works well with you're other skills. It knocks you're opponent up for a while so your teammates can freely attack them for 1 sec. also a great escape. You can ult, knock up your opponent, and flash or decoy away. I believe you can cancel this ult by clicking R after you activate it.
Flash: This is necessary for Wukong. I believe every champ should get this. Escape, and to close distances from enemies. Not much explanation needed here.
Ignite: The little damage you need to finish opponents. After wukong spams all his skills, he auto attack isn't the best because he doesn't have the best attack speed. This will give you the last needed damage to finish opponents, and this is always great since most teams have support champs that will be like "haha fuck you're damage i'll just heal my teammate". Nuff said.
Ghost: A good substitute for flash, or you could also take this instead of ignite. However, I prefer flash because you can use more tricks with decoy with it, and wukong only needs a short jump to reach most opponents. If you like more utility, be my guest and take this instead of ignite, just remember to get improved ghost in the utility mastery
Exhaust: A great substitute for ignite. Wukong lacks much CC so this is a great alternitive to ignite. However, I still get ignite because wukong really doesn't do much dmg after skills, and I personally prefer ignite. But, if you're in ranked and you see master yi, tyrnd, or a heavy dps team, take this instead of ignite.
Cleanse: I like initiating with wukong, so i'll get spammed by skills a lot by the opponents. for those aggressive players, feel free to grab cleanse because you will need it in teamfights lol.
Greater Mark of Desolation Standard DPS rune.
Greater Seal of Resilience Tanky dps champs should all get armor seals. Armor is necessary throughout the game, and its great early game so you can't be harassed by your lane opponent.
Greater Glyph of Warding Another necessity for tanky champs. You usually don't know who's gonna be in you're lane (unless its ranked) so its great to be prepared for both dps and ap champs.
Greater Quintessence of Desolation Great for early game damage since if you follow my build, you won't get much items with attack until phage and later. Greater Quintessence of Fortitude Health Quints are great too, but I feel like Wukong needs that extra damage over extra health.
I like taking 0/21/9 because as wukong, you need as much armor and magic resist you can get. That extra health also helps early game. Taking 9 in utility instead of offense is because you really don't need much from the 9 in offense. However, 9 in utility gives you that little extra exp for early game domination, and that extra gold can get you free wards which is necessary for solo lanes.
The 3 Core items to this build. Philo stone is great early game to stay in lane, it also gives gold which is an extra bonus. Don't be fooled by the fact 5 gold per 10sec seems little. If you add that with Heart of Gold and that bonus gold from your mastery, that's an extra 11 gold per 10 sec, which adds up late game. Merc treads is obvious because you need something for CC. you could get ninja tabi or boots of swiftness if your opponents have no cc, but seriously, its gg if they don't have any. Trinity force is the all around item that makes wukong great. Health, mana, movespeed, atk, bonus dmg. Fuck. everything we need in 1 item? yes please.
ALL ITEMS AFTER ARE BASED ON HOW WELL YOU ARE DOING OR HOW WELL YOUR OPPONENTS ARE DOING.
Heart of Gold Another gold item that also gives you more health. I get this after sheen 90% of the time, but if I want to go for more early dmg, i sometimes skip this. However, in the long run, this is a great item to get after sheen if you expect a really long game.
The Bloodthirster The usual item i get after my Trinity Force. Why Bloodthirster over IE or Clever? I've seen lots of guides with IE, and its a great item and all, but its way too expensive. 3830 gold after trinity force? you're not gonna finish IE most of the time. Also, why so much crit on Wukong? He's not a ranged dps. he's gonna take hits. You're gonna want that little lifesteal to keep you from dying. Also I prefer thirster over clever because Wukong targets multiple targets, not just one. i prefer a little lifesteal and more dmg over a extra atk speed.
Guardian Angel Usually the next item after bloodthirster, but I sometimes get this if we already have enough damage and not a lot of tankiness. A great item considering it gives armor and magic resist, and wukong is one of the champions that can actually escape after GA revives you.
These items usually depend on who's doing best on your opponent's team, or if you're just completely destroying your enemies. You usually won't get this far on this build, but in very long games, here's a little suggestion.
If your opponents have a lot of AP...
Force of Nature Great item against AP champs. I like how this gives health regen, which is quite useful for Wukong. The bonus movespeed is also great for a champ that easily gets away and closes gaps between enemies.
Banshee's Veil Another great item. I usually only get this if i'm being bursted or stunned before i can initiate a team fight.
For lots of dps get...
Randuin's Omen This is a great item, and you don't have to sell your HoG either. The slow is great, and health and health regen to go with the armor makes this item a must get. Just remember to activate it.
Sunfire Cape This is another great item. If you do not need the slow from Randuin's, i advise you get sunfire because you'll be in the middle of almost every fight, so that extra damage and health is a great boost.
For more dmg...
Frozen Mallet Health, slow, and Damage. A costly item, but if you have Philo stone, heart of gold, and you are somewhat fed, you should be able to get this item after GA.
Youmuu's Ghostblade I don't usually get this because i rather be more tanky, but if you're style is glass cannon damage, then go for this after bloodthirster or GA.
Wukong should be a tanky DPS champion that soaks up damage and distracts the other team with his skills. Following my guide, you should have around 3k health with over 100 armor and mag resist. Wukong is an initiator, and he should also be the one going for carries or attacking the ones that are focusing your own carries. Wukong is also capable of backdooring because as of now, q does a nice bonus damage against towers if you have a lot of atk damage. So basically what i'm trying to say is that wukong is a fucking beast like king kong, and he should destroy everything just like king kong.
Please comment and try the build and strategies before voting. Please don't just downvote if you lose your first game as wukong using this build. Wukong takes time to master, and requires a few games for you to actually be decent. Thank you.

Early Game Phase
Laning and Early Game
Wukong is not made for early game. In fact, his damage sucks till level 5 or 6. To counter this, wukong needs lots of farm and exp. So the best solution is...solo lane. People will cursing you, yelling no, rage, etc. just politely say you're going top solo, and let them feel bad after you carry them. If you have no jungler on your team, still go top because it's easier for wukong to lane against 1 opponent and not two (assuming the other team has a jungler). If you're opponents also have no jungler....well fuck guess you have to lane either way. Anyways, early game is all about farming. Farm. Farm. Farm. Fuck the guy you're laning with. Just farm everything. Ok fine, not everything, but if you have a partner, farm until you can buy philo stone and normal boots, head back, and then go back to lane and let your partner farm. Once you hit level 5, you should be focused not only on last hitting, but also harassing with e+q combo. At level 5, E should be level 3, and thats when it does quite a lot of damage early game. Use E, auto attack once, q them quickly right after, and just go back behind minions. You might want to use w just in case to take no damage, but if your opponent just tries to run, just casually walk back and laugh at them. Once cooldowns are off, repeat this step for good early game harassment and damage.
Mid game
By now, you should have atleast philo stone, merc treads, and either finishing sheen, or getting your Heart of Gold.Wukong excels at mid game. Wukong should start roaming around and helping other lanes by now. Wukong should now be engaging in teamfights, and if your team does not have a great initiator, wukong is the one who should start fights. if you see opponents bunched up, use E to get to your opponents. Next, you should use your ult and knock up as many as you can. after that, you should use w to try to distract your opponents, and during your stealth, find their carry and start auto attacking and using Q and E whenever its up. Make sure you have your team is also fighting because wukong will easily get fucked 1v3 or 1v5.
Late Game
by late game you should have your trinity force, and most likely a BF sword or already completed bloodthirster. Work on completing GA, but sometimes you might wanna switch to FoN or Sunfire cape depending on how the game is going. Just like mid game, initiate team fights, and just stomp on everyone. Wukong isn't the best late game in my opinion, but he's up there near the top as long as he doesn't have much CC on him (which will most likely never happen). Stay with your team, and just initiate fights when everyone is ready. Same play style as mid game, just make sure in teamfights everyone is fighting.
Some things to remember before you run into a battle...
-Check your skills. Make sure none of your skills are on cool down before you fight. Every single one plays a part.
-Don't initiate at bad times. This may seem silly repeating, but i've seen some players just pop ghost and run in, and the rest of the team is like wtf, i'm not ready or hell no i'm not going in with 50% health.
-Use W as a last resort. In a teamfight, you don't really need to use W unless you want people to stop focusing you. Sometimes, if possible, i try not to use it until i really need to use it to escape. Wukong has no stuns or snares to stop opponents from chasing him, so decoy is the only way you are going to escape.
Late game is all about teamwork for Wukong. Jump into battles, and disrupt as many opponents as you can. Get everyone's attention and use decoy to jump out when you get a little low. jump back in wherever you can, and don't worry about dying because you should be the off tank, and tanks are suppose to die for their carries.
How to Use Decoy Correctly
So, if you've watched the champion spotlight, Phreak talks about the "stop trick" where you hit "S" instead of "W" to trick your opponents. This isn't gonna work all the time since everyone knows about it, and you should just use W and run left or right instead of stopping. I will admit however, that the stop trick is good as long as you can fool your opponents. To increase the percentage of it working, you need to make sure your opponent falls for the stop trick. When you are running hit S to stop. now, usually your opponent will hit you a few times before running foward or to the side to chase after the real one. Sometimes, people get scared of taking some damage, and run right after they get hit once. Don't worry about a little damage. Instead, let your opponent hit you. Once he hits you like 3 times, he'll usually walk away. This is the time you should be using decoy. The second he walks one way, decoy and go left or right. He'll soon wonder where you went, and notice that the clone didn't disappear. He'll either keep walking straight, or walk back near a bush. This is a handy trick to escape, but i will warn you that it doesn't always work.
Another way to use decoy is to close in on opponents without them realizing. when my opponents are low, and are hiding behind minions, i go into the nearest bush or i go somewhere which wont make them run away. then, i use decoy, and either get closer to them, or go to the second bush in top and bottom lane, where they do not expect me. I then jump at them with E and ult, igniting to finish them off. This is just another way to use decoy to get closer instead of escaping.
So, this was a huge guide with lots of basic information about wukong. Just a quick summary...
Wukong is a tanky dps that excels in solo lane and mid to late game. He excels in initiating and distracting opponents. Use this to help your team, and remember to go King Kong on everyone.
Thanks for reading my guide, and I hope you try it out. If you have suggestions, please tell me them below. I hope you enjoy playing wukong as much as I do :3.

"All vote no coz he's using his own accounts to vote for this guide."
ok...First off, I did not waste my time making multiple accounts to try to "raise" this guide. If I bothered to do that, this guide will drop back down soon. The reason for new accounts are my friends who did not have accounts before, but supported my guide my trying it out, and decided to upvote. Plus, your name is "ZOMGITSNOTTIM" ....Hmm.. account was made today....and oh a hypocrite... making accounts to downvote....yea...please don't waste your time like this.
Disclaimer: I thank my friend Cheeeeese for giving me tips on my Wukong guide, and i need to give a special thanks to SixSonatas for his excellent build template. you can find this template here http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/forum/build-and-guide-discussion/sixsonatas-the-revolutionary-build-format-of-sophisticated-guides-1159
